Hey People!! I’m Christina Pawlowski, your
good ol’ Minnesotan Gal! I moved to Chicago in 2007 to attend Columbia
College, where I’m majoring in Small Business Entrepreneurship. I’ve
been singing ever since I can remember…at home, we have this hysterical
old family video tape of me singing boldly and passionately to myself
in my room, with grand and epic gestures to accompany it. You see, I
was totally making up my own language, singing a melody that was a
blend of various songs I had heard, as well as total improvisation. My
mother can be heard in the background, desperately trying to quiet her
loving giggles as to not disturb my very personal musical moment…ah,
classic.
I
actually got connected to singing with World Class Noise in March 2008
through a singing gig I had at the Green Mill with the Alan Gresik
Swing Shift Orchestra. (Yup, these boys snatched me up only 6 months
after I moved here!!) Since than, I’ve been the female face of this
great soul band, and have had a blast, not to mention, have learned a
ton about my voice, working and collaborating with a band, co producing
our next original album, and countless of other things that have only
evolved me as both a musician, and as a individual.
In addition to WCN, I write my own pieces, integrating my love of jazz,
indie, soul, trip-hop, spoken-word, classical and Latin music. There is
so much incredible music out there; sometimes it makes my head spin!!
Anyway, my small bit of advice to whoever reads this??
You can never have too much passion,
allow yourself to thrive on it! Remember that!!
